Way over 100 shows in 2012- a personal record!
I love disco and I make no apologies for that. Back in the mid-90s, I remember when the Boogie Knights were getting big. I saw them play many times and was always impressed with how well the music is played and with how good the songs have stood up over time.
These tribute bands always have excellent musicians (there’s nothing like a good funky bass player and drummer) and they always make the songs sound great.
This show rocked. After a quick trip to Hooter’s, it was a walk across the parking lot to grab a seat and check out the band. There was a raffle (I won something, but still haven’t opened the gift bag to see what it was), I scored a free t-shirt for spending some money at the mall and there were two Hooters girls there handing out wings during the intermission. There was also free pizza from Buca di Beppo- how can you beat that?
Sure, there may be a little sequencing and a few backing tracks for the tunes, but who really cares? These tunes rock and this show was a blast.
