2012 Concerts

Way over 100 shows in 2012- a personal record!

I’ve seen Queensryche quite a few times.   I admit to falling asleep during “Silent Lucidity” more than once while being played live.    Their lead singer, Geoff Tate, is out on a solo tour doing acoustic shows and promoting his new wine- Insania.   If you buy a bottle, you get to have him sign it after the show at a meet-n-greet.   At $39, you figure it’s a little cheaper than if you were to buy 6 glasses from the bar.    Anyhow, the wine wasn’t very good.    Our table polished off the bottle anyway and saved it until after the show.    During the show itself, Geoff sounded great.   He was funny and engaging.   However, I didn’t like his solo album at all and I think some of the songs he played were from that.  His voice was strong and that’s what really counts.   I may have dozed off for a while, because I can only recall them playing “Eyes Of A Stranger” from the Queensryche catalog, but that song was fantastic.    After the show, I got in line pretty fast and was able to have him sign the bottle without a prolonged wait.   It was a cool evening.   Thumbs up to his performance, but thumbs down to his wine….

This is what happens when you drink some Insania and watch a show:
